Although many believe it’s in his best interest, 6ix9ine reportedly does not want to go into witness protection following his prison release.

According to TMZ, 6ix9ine plans to rack up on security following his prison release. The “FEFE” musician believes that if security is by his side 24/7, that he will not be in harm’s way. During the 23-year-old’s trial last week, Tekashi took the stand to testify against Nine Trey Bloods members Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack and Anthony “Harv” Ellison. In addition to that, 6ix9ine implicated Jim Jones and Trippie Redd as gang members.

After his release, Tekashi wants to pick up where he left off and focus on his music. Prior to his arrest, 6ix9ine dropped his album, Dummy Boy, which featured Nicki Minaj, Kanye West and more.

Per The New York Times, prosecutors were looking into witness protection to ensure the “Gummo” rapper’s safety. “Despite how connected we are, and the appetite for social media content in this country, there are places where, if this kid gets a haircut and wears normal clothes, no one would know or care who he is,” Jay Kramer, a former F.B.I official said to The Times.

If 6ix9ine did accept the offer, the rapper’s tattoos would have to get removed. “United States Marshals Service, which runs the witness protection program, would pay for the removal of Mr. Hernandez’s signature face tattoos,” the article states.

On Wednesday (Sept. 25), TMZ reported that Snapchat is launching a docuseries centered around 6ix9ine’s trial. The documentary-style franchise entitled, “VS The World,” will showcase the rapper’s high and low points throughout his career. DJ Akademiks, Ebro Darden, Adam22, Tory Lanez, Cuban Doll and more are set to appear on the upcoming docuseries. Secondly, the docuseries will provide updates on the rapper’s trial including the upcoming verdict.
