Drake remembers ‘Nothing Was the Same’ in honor of album’s anniversary
How time flies.
Six years ago, Drake released his third studio album, Nothing Was The Same. On Tuesday (Sept. 24), Drake took a moment to reflect on the project in a post uploaded to Instagram.
In a series of photos, Drake is seen sitting on a rooftop. In another photo, there are several hoodies with the album’s title printed on it. Keeping his caption short and sweet, Drizzy wrote: “NWTS.”
Unsurprisingly, Drake’s fans have not forgotten about this important day in history. While posting to Twitter, fans shared positive messages regarding the LP. “SIX YEARS OF DRAKE’S BEST ALBUM. NOTHING WAS THE SAME HIVE WE HEAAAAA,” one fan wrote. Another added, “Nothing Was The Same is Drakes best album and none of y’all ready for that convo.”
Back in 2013, Champagne Papi spoke with Billboard regarding the project. During their conversation, Drake admitted that he sought to make music that makes people feel good. “There’s a lot less sort of ambient ballad moments on this album where I’m searching or longing for something,” Drake said at the time. “That sentiment is gone. Now I’m just kind of like, ‘You know, I’m 26, I don’t know what the f–k else I could be doing better than this. I feel incredible about how I’m able to support my family and friends and how supportive my family and friends have been of me.’”
Since then, Drake has not slowed down and continues to prove why he is a superstar. More recently, Drake became the first solo artist to have more than 200 appearances on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In addition to that, Drake achieved his ninth No. 1 album with the release of Care Package.
