Lil Wayne fans are furious after the rapper was a no-show at the Life Is Beautiful festival in Las Vegas on Saturday night (Sept. 21). According to Billboard, he was supposed to take the stage at the 7th annual festival, but 10 minutes into his set, it was announced that he would not be performing. Thousands gathered to see Wayne for his 9:20 p.m. performance, however a message appeared on the screen which said, “Unfortunately, Lil Wayne will not be able to perform tonight. Sorry for any inconvenience.”
According to HotNewHipHop, a fan said on Reddit, “There was a sound clip of 3 gunshots a ‘Young Mula baby’ and then nothing for 10 minutes.”
Fans immediately took to Twitter to voice their dismay for the last minute cancellation. “Unbelievable, Lil Wayne cancels last minute at Life is Beautiful. Had a huge crowd waiting for his performance too,” tweeted one fan. Another expressed concern for the rapper’s health, “I hope Lil Wayne is okay. He been pulling out of a lot of show dates and he just cancelled on us at Life is Beautiful in Las Vegas.”
This is Weezy’s second canceled show in the last couple of weeks. We reported earlier this month that the Young Money boss skipped out on his show in St. Louis on Sept. 14. Wayne, who is currently touring with Blink-182, revealed that he was bailing on the performance after getting kicked out of the Ritz-Carlton hotel. He did not disclose details on the incident, but the rapper did post a tweet revealing that the authorities were involved.
“Sorry not doing the show tonight in St Lou kuz I was just kik’d out the ritz and 12 got involve so I gotta slide. Tht y’all f w me out here. Dam slime. It’s all luv tho,” Wayne tweeted at the time.
He was scheduled to perform at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in St. Louis.
Following his cancellation announcement, Wayne told fans to “Katch me in Cincinnati” on Sept. 16.
