Congratulations are in order for Megan Thee Stallion. The Houston native announced on Friday (Sept. 13) that she is signed to JAY-Z’s Roc Nation.

“I would like to announce that I am officially a part of the @rocnation fam,” Meg wrote as her Instagram caption. “The grind don’t stop!”

Last month, Megan was spotted hanging out with hip-hop’s first billionaire at a PUMA event in New York city, which hinted that a co-sign was in the process. Although Megan will continue to release her music through 1501 Certified Entertainment/300, she will be managed by Roc Nation. Notable names in the game also have a Roc Nation co-sign including Meek Mill, DJ Khaled and more.

Throughout her successful career, Megan has shown that had work does pay off. Last night, Megan performed at Rihanna’s 2019 Diamond Ball. Despite not meeting the singer beforehand, Megan was excited at the chance of delivering a memorable performance.

“Everyone knows that I love Beyoncé,” Megan said during an interview when asked about female inspirations. “But Rihanna is someone that I have always looked up to in music, like her swag. She’s such a savage. I love it. Her whole demeanor, she just seems like, ‘I’m all that and I know it and you better accept that.’ I really like that.”

In addition to celebrating her successful performance and new management deal, the Fever artist released her “Hot Girl Summer” video featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign. Guest appearances were also made by DaniLeigh, French Montana, La La Anthony and Minaj’s beau, Kenneth Petty.

While speaking with PAPER, the 24-year-old admitted that her success was bound to happen based on her upbringing. “I feel like off the strength that my mom was a rapper, and the music that her and my dad put in my ear as a child, it was bound to happen,” she revealed. “Me watching her write and me watching her go in the studio and lay her verses down. Just to see how dedicated she was, that was normal to me.”
