Understandably, Nicki Minaj’s surprising retirement announcement has left almost everyone in a frenzy. While speaking on the shocking news, Megan Thee Stallion stated that she doesn’t believe that Minaj will retire.

“I don’t believe her. I think she’s just talking right now,” Megan said during an interview with radio host Ashlee at JAM’N 94.5’s Summer Jam concert.

In addition to Megan, Queen Latifah also stated that she doesn’t take Minaj’s announcement seriously. “She must be in love and happy,” Queen Latifah said to TMZ. “Let her live. She’s been grinding for a long time. Once you’re a rapper, you’ll always be a rapper,” Latifah said. “She’ll be back. Let her live first. Let her live her life first.”

Last week, the “Hot Girl Summer” featured artist announced that she’s throwing in the towel to start a family with her beau, Kenneth Petty. “I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE,” Minaj posted to Twitter.”

After realizing that her abrupt tweet might be “insensitive,” the New York rapper issued an apology to The Barbz. “I’m still right here,” Minaj wrote. “Still madly in love with you guys & you know that. In hindsight, this should’ve been a Queen Radio discussion & it will be. I promise u guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abrupt & insensitive, I apologize babe.”

There’s no telling if “Hot Girl Summer” will be the last track we hear from the Pink Friday rapper. Prior to her retirement news, Minaj stated that she was working on her follow-up album to Queen.
