Chance The Rapper is hitting pause on his tour plans. While posting to Instagram yesterday (Sept. 9), Chano revealed that “The Big Day Tour” will not begin next week after all.

Last week, Chance and his wife, Kirsten Bennett, welcomed their second baby girl, Marli. In his very-detailed Instagram post, Chance reveals that he doesn’t want to miss out on important family moments while on the road. At this point in his life, Chance is putting his family at the forefront of his priorities.

“I thought it over for the past week and I’ve decided to push back my tour,” he began. “This year has been one of the greatest of my life; Marriage, new baby, first album etc. But with it being so eventful it has also been very strenuous having to divide my time and energy between family and work.”

Elsewhere into the post, Chance reflects on his regret over missing special moments with his first-born, Kensli, due to being on the road. Moving forward, Chance will not make the same mistake twice.

“When Kensli was born, I went on tour 2 weeks later and missed some of the most important milestones in her life, but more importantly I was absent when her mother needed me the most,” he admitted. “At this point as a husband and father of two I realize that I can’t make that mistake again. I need to be as helpful and available as possible to my wife in these early months of raising Kensli and Marli.”

Make no mistake, Chance feels it for fans who were planning on attending his concert this year. The Acid Rap spitter issued an apology for the last-minute inconvenience. On the bright side, the tour will not be put on pause for long and is slated to resume on Jan. 15, 2020.
