Last week, Mac Miller’s alleged drug dealer, Cameron James Petit, was charged in connection to the rapper’s passing. Following the news, many have shared their disfavor with the situation including Miller’s ex-girlfriend, Ariana Grande.

According to a report from TMZ, which was published yesterday (Sept. 8), Grande believes that Miller was taken advantage of. Grande states that Miller was suffering from addiction and that Petit should face the consequences for his role in Miller’s death. As previously stated, Petit supplied Miller with counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl.

Two days ago, marked the one-year anniversary of Miller’s death. On Sept. 7, 2018, Miller was found unresponsive in his home after an accidental overdose on alcohol, cocaine and fentanyl, according to authorities. Miller’s dad, Mark McCormick, expressed his thoughts on the matter following the news that Petit could face up to 20 years in prison.

“So they finally caught the muthaf–ka that sold him the drugs that killed him,” McCormick tells a crowd in the video. “And we find some comfort in that. Many of us who were young, including me, experiment with drugs. But it’s a different f–king world out there. All it takes is a little tiny stone of Fentanyl and cocaine and you’re dead.”

United States Attorney Nick Hanna stated that the selling of illicit drugs must come to an end. “We are aggressively targeting drug dealers responsible for trafficking illicit fentanyl, which has become the most deadly facet of the opioid epidemic,” said Hanna. “We are committed to slowing the number of overdose deaths and prosecuting those responsible for spreading this most dangerous opioid.”

Sadly, there’s no telling all of the great things Miller would’ve accomplished by now. During a recent interview with Zane Lowe, Post Malone revealed that he was going to release an album with the late rapper. “We were going to make an album,” Post admitted. “We were sitting there playing beer pong and we were like, ‘Let’s make a f–king album.’ Then we were coming up with names and then it’s so weird too.”
