Kevin Hart will have an intense road to recovery.

According to The Blast, it will be at least four months before the comedian can get return to work. Sources close to the incident said that Hart’s surgeons had to fuse his spine in three different places after it was determined that he had multiple fractures in his back. And while his surgery was a success, Hart is now facing at least four months of physical therapy, which will be “very painful and arduous.” His therapy will start in the hospital, so that he can receive help and guidance from medical professionals.

It was previously reported that the car the comedian was riding in lacked critical safety features. According to TMZ, Hart was riding in “death trap in the form of a tricked out 1970 Plymouth Barracuda.” Car experts said that the safety features that the car lacked could have prevented the injuries Hart sustained.

TMZ also recently revealed that the driver of the car was reportedly peeling out before the accident occurred. A witness claims to have heard tires screeching, which was followed by the sound of a car crashing through a fence.

Hart left the scene and went home to seek medical attention. He was later taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The comedian suffered three spinal fractures and has undergone back surgery, but he is expected to make a full recovery. Hart’s wife, Eniko Hart, spoke with TMZ last week and said that the comedian is “going to be just fine.”

After news broke of Hart’s accident, members of the hip hop community sent their well wishes to the comedian. REVOLT TV’s Chairman, Sean “Diddy” Combs, shared a heartfelt post on Instagram. “Sending some love and light to my brother @kevinhart4real, we are all praying for you and your family,” Diddy wrote.
