Pusha T is taking a stance against the prison system.

Earlier this week, the Virginia native announced the “Third Strike Coming Home” campaign while on Twitter. The DAYTONA spitter will be joining forces with lawyers MiAngel Cody and Brittany K. Barnett. In the past, both Cody and Barnett have worked relentlessly to help free over 40 people who were sentenced to life in prison under drug laws.

“This is way more than a song, it’s a movement!” Pusha wrote alongside a clip of his latest song. “We are doing everything in our power to bring home men and women trapped behind the wall due to an outdated 3 strikes drug law. Check out http://thirdstrikecampaign.com/cominghome to support and learn about the campaign.” Kicking things off, Pusha launched the campaign with a $25,000 donation. Moving forward, Pusha is hopeful that others will chime in and donate towards the good cause.

More recently, during an interview with radio host Ebro Darden, Pusha explained that he is working on his next album. During their conversation, Pusha revealed how his recent collaborations with Lauryn Hill on “Coming Home” and Kash Doll on “Sociopath” came about.

“I just made the request. She expressed that she likes my music, and she’d see about it,” Push said while speaking on his experience working with Lauryn Hill. “I definitely followed the queen around every… Whatever it took, and it was super important to me when she showed interest. It was just super important to me to definitely have her on it. Lauryn, her discography, it means everything. It’s insane, so this wasn’t about ever rushing or being on a time limit. It was just about getting the song done right and to both of our liking.”
