The wait for new music from Lil Wayne is coming to a close.

During a sit down with New Orleans radio station Q93, Lil Wayne confirmed that his upcoming album, Funeral, is on the way. Originally, Weezy was asked by radio host Wild Wayne on whether or not fans could expect a follow-up to Tha Carter V. “I’m not sure,” Wayne said. “I wouldn’t count it out but the Funeral is my next album. I’ma be dropping that by the end of the year.”

Speaking on his upcoming album in more detail, the “Lollipop” rapper explained that his album is done and it falls in line with his creative process. “Wayne, you know how I work. My album’s always done; it just takes Mack [Maine] to come in there and wrap up a couple songs and name them,” Wayne said. “That’s how it go around here. I work every day, so, it just takes them to come in and say, ‘Let me get these 20 songs. Can I have these?’ and they name them and then we go from there.”

Funeral will serve as the follow-up to Tha Carter V. On the 23-track project, Wayne secured vocals from Travis Scott, Nivea, Sosamann, XXXTentacion, Swizz Beatz and his daughter, Reginae Carter.

In other Lil Wayne-related news, the New Orleans spitter recently mourned the loss of former NFL running back, Cedric Benson. “For #32 Cedrick Benson and his fam. My condolences. Packer 4ever. Love everyday,” he wrote to Twitter.

According to news outlets, a minivan was trying to cross an intersection when it ran into a motorcycle. Unfortunately, Benson and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene. Shortly before his death, Benson uploaded a photograph of a motorcycle to his Instagram account. “My Saturday evening,” he wrote as the caption.
