While taking a moment to reflect on Twitter yesterday (Aug. 28), Cardi B stated that a lot of work went into her debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy. In a variety of tweets, the Bronx native revealed that if it wasn’t for her husband, Offset, she wouldn’t have many guest appearances on her LP.

In one tweet, Cardi explained the hardships that she encountered while working on the solo effort. The “I Like It” spitter stated that she was pregnant and pressed for time to finish the project before her body caught up to her. Bardi recalled a time where artists were charging her at least six figures for a feature.

“I had to get my husband to talk to my label cause I never had a relationship with them so we all came together to relocate me to Atlanta and Miami to finish my album before my stomach start showing,” she began. “When I kept seeing the certifications of the songs going gold or platinum I was so excited cause my husband was out here asking everybody for a feature on my behalf so the ones that said yes thank you from the bottom of my heart cause TRUST ME ALOT OF ARTIST SAID NO! OR CHARGING 6 figures for a feature.”

Elsewhere, Cardi explained that her hardships were worth it. The mother-of-one reasoned that winning a Grammy made all of her obstacles seem worthwhile.

“So when I won a Grammy for it I didn’t have no words to say but when I went home I started reminiscing on what I went thru during that period I was like YEA B–H YOU DESERVE THIS S–T,” she said.

In addition to winning a Grammy for Invasion of Privacy, Cardi also won Album of the Year at the 2019 BET Awards. Check out some of her tweets below.
