Chance The Rapper doesn’t have any dreams of performing at the Super Bowl.

While making an appearance at The Breakfast Club yesterday (Aug. 26), Chano explained that he doesn’t wish to perform at the halftime show. The conversation was circulated around JAY-Z’s NFL partnership, which will allow the Brooklyn emcee to consult on the halftime show. In his explanation, Chance states that performing at the annual event will not help with social justice, in his opinion.

“Nah, I wouldn’t and it’s not no knock to anybody,” Chance said when asked about the halftime show. “I don’t think the Super Bowl is my actionable item. I think there’s certain things that I would like to see get changed and I work on them and there’s a lot of people that help me. Shout out to JAY-Z who’s helped me a lot since day one, but there’s things that I got to do personally that I think will affect change and empower other people to affect change, that would be outside of the Super Bowl.”

Elsewhere during his interview, Chano spoke on his debut album, The Big Day. The Chicago spitter explained that despite the controversy, he sees no problem expressing his adoration for his wife. In fact, Chance supports the “Black Men Don’t Cheat” movement and sees the bigger picture behind it.

This isn’t the first time that Chance touched on this topic. While on Twitter, Chance chose to rise above the negativity and meaningless memes on social media. “And the number one thing thats been on my heart and has been reaffirmed in the last week that I’m now 100% sure of is.. That I LOVE my wife,” Chance wrote to his social media account.
