Vic Mensa has some things to get off of his chest.

In a video uploaded by TMZ today (Aug. 23), Mensa speaks about the ongoing gun control issue. During his rant, Mensa makes reference to the mass shootings that happened in Texas and Ohio, earlier this month. The Chicago rapper stated that people live in a country where human life is not valued.

“I think that what we’re essentially seeing is America’s chickens coming home to roost,” he began. “This is the price you pay for this extreme brand of capitalism where everything is for sale including the lives of Mexicans, children, gay people, everyone.”

Elsewhere, Mensa added that politicians find a way to “pinpoint everything but the guns.” Although he doesn’t verbally mention President Donald Trump, Mensa draws reference to the POTUS’ recent speech. “You see something happen… and they say ‘Violent video games must be the problem. Oh, maybe there’s a mental health crisis in America’ as opposed to looking directly at the weapon who killed the people.”

A couple of weeks ago, the 45th President reasoned that change needs to happen immediately. Trump suggested that violence is an issue due to the wide use of violent video games.

“We must stop the glorification of violence in our society,” Trump said. “This includes the gruesome and grizzly video games that are now commonplace. It is too easy today for troubled youth to surround themselves with a culture that celebrates violence.”

Trump added, “We must stop or substantially reduce this and it has to begin immediately. Cultural change is hard. But each of us can choose to build a culture that celebrates the inherent worth and dignity of every human life. That’s what we have to do.”
