Dave East will allow the marathon to continue.

While making an appearance at “Tim Westwood TV,” East delivered a heartfelt freestyle dedicated to his friend, Nipsey Hussle. In the freestyle, East recalls being inspired by the late rapper. Throughout his bars, East reveals that he and Hussle had plans of releasing a mixtape together. In addition to that, Hussle also offered advice to East when he was looking to start a clothing line.

“I’ma listen to your raps forever / On the real / F–k how they feel, Victory Lap was better,” he raps. “South Central ain’t never gonna feel the same / You got me scared ’cause it ain’t too many of us left,” East spits while rapping over Pretty Ricky’s 2007 “On the Hotline” beat.

It’s no secret how affected Dave East was by the unfortunate loss of Neighborhood Nip. Following his untimely death, East hosted a candlelit vigil to honor the life of his friend and collaborator. The event proved to be a success as it was attended by fans of all ages and all races.

“If You In The NYC Area Come Show Cuzo Some Love This Was Really My Friend Fucc Rap!!!!!” East wrote in addition to the flyer that shared the New York address. “LOVE U CRIP.”

In other Dave East-related news, the East Harlem spitter recently dropped two new singles “Everyday,” which features Gunna and “Wanna Be A G.” The two singles are found on East’s Survival Pacc. Last week, East teamed up with Kiing Shooter to release “Welcome to the Party (Remix).”

Deeper into his career, East wants to continue to make an impact with his music. “The music is a way for me to vent and really tell people my life without me sitting down and having a conversation with them,” East said in an interview, back in 2017. If you listen from my first mixtape to now with my first Def Jam debut you can hear so many stories and you can hear what I went through.”
