Meek Mill continues to put on for his city.
Yesterday (Aug. 17), Meek Mill debuted a newly renovated basketball court in North Philadelphia. While creating the basketball court, Meek partnered with PUMA, Roc Nation and several other organizations to help bring his dream to life. As for the decoration, the court is painted blue with a “Dream Chasers” logo. Meek was inspired to give kids the opportunity to play a sport they love in the best conditions possible. Elsewhere in the video obtained by TMZ, Meek joins the kids for a quick game.
This isn’t the first time that Meek partnered with other organizations for a notable cause. Earlier this month, PUMA announced a new colorway of Clyde Court, “#REFORM,” which is inspired by Meek’s criminal justice reform. According to PUMA, the red color on the sneaker signifies the “blood and sacrifice of those who have courageously given so much fighting oppression and injustices over the last 60-plus years.”
In addition to the sneaker being fashionable, it also goes towards a good cause. All of the proceeds made from the sneakers will benefit Meek and JAY-Z’s REFORM Alliance Foundation. The foundation was created to help with the number of people who face unfair treatment from the criminal justice system.
“Our goal is to dramatically reduce the number of people who are needlessly trapped in the system,” the site states. “We will do this by changing the laws, policies, and practices that perpetuate injustice. Key to our strategy is changing hearts and minds to support real change. We are building an alliance of influential leaders in business, government, entertainment, sports, and culture to use our shared resources, energy, and platforms for massive impact. Our initial focus will be disabling the revolving door of probation and parole.”
