Nicki Minaj calls out Rick Ross for dissing her on ''Apple of My Eye'' track
The “Megatron” rapper shares her thoughts.
While making a guest appearance on The Joe Budden Podcast, Nicki Minaj got a few things off her chest.
During her time there, the New York rapper spoke about Rick Ross’ track, “Apple of My Eye.” On the track, which was released in 2017, Ross sends a warning to Meek Mill regarding Minaj. “I told Meek I wouldn’t trust Nicki/Instead of beefin’ with your dog, you just give ’em some distance,” he spits. While speaking with the State of the Culture host, Minaj explained that Ross once spoke highly of her. Minaj is upset that Ross dissed her when she stuck by Meek’s side during his conflict with Drake.
“I went and sat down in a meeting with Obama, President Obama and Ross was there and texted dude after the meeting like, ‘Yo, this chick is a keeper,’” Minaj recalled. “I saw the text myself with my own eyes. ‘This chick is a keeper. She went in a room full of rappers and spoke to Obama and the first thing out of her mouth was about you and figuring out your probation situation and why you’re still on probation after all these years.’ And then you come out on an album when it’s time to sell some weak ass f–king album and try to disrespect Nicki Minaj. What?”
Despite the drama with Ross, Minaj is currently living her best life. She recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of her Queen Radio show. Surprisingly, the 36-year-old spitter revealed her plans to get married within the next 80 days. On top of that, Minaj is also working on her follow-up album to her 2018 LP, Queen.
“I have to work on my album and I have a lot to focus on that I don’t want to do the big wedding now. We’ll do the big wedding later,” Minaj began. “I’ll be married before my album comes out, but will have my wedding after the album comes out. Before the 90 days is over, yes, I will be married. I’m very happy about that because my baby makes me so happy.”
