For Reebok’s newest campaign, “Meet You There,” the brand called on Cardi B to help bring their vision to life. The collection, which is targeted at both men and women, celebrates individual style and expression.

In the campaign’s video, the New York rapper stated that her background plays a part in making her unique. Cardi explained that she turned her insecurity into a strength.

“It’s definitely The Bronx, where I came from and my friends,” she begins. “A lot of people always talking about how I talk, saying I have a very deep accent. I started feeling really insecure about it, but it’s like ‘Nah, forget it.’ I gotta be real with myself all the time, that’s something I gotta do to stay me.”

Towards the end of the video, Cardi recalled being called weird. Now, the Invasion of Privacy rapper realizes that she has more in common with people than she thought. “I just thought I was weird because everybody keeps telling me that I’m weird but when I started doing videos on Instagram and so many people claim they relate to me, I was like ‘I guess there’s a lot of weird people out there,’” she said while laughing.

More recently, Cardi made a guest appearance at Drake’s annual OVO Festival in Toronto. While on stage, Cardi performed “Bodak Yellow” and “Clout” alongside her husband, Offset. Cardi has been working harder than ever and Drake took a moment to acknowledge that.

“I feel like there’s just one girl that’s been going a little harder,” Drake said in an effort to prepare the crowd for Cardi’s performance. “It’s only right that I exit the stage and leave you in the company of grace and greatness. Enjoy.”
