Over the weekend, Roddy Ricch was reportedly arrested for felony domestic violence.

According to TMZ, the rapper allegedly grabbed his girlfriend during a heated argument at his home. Law enforcement informs the media outlet that the Compton spitter got into a heated debate with his girlfriend on Sunday morning. Unfortunately, the dispute quickly turned physical. Sources say that Roddy allegedly put his hands on his girlfriend during the argument. Roddy was booked for felony domestic violence and was released on a $50,000 bond. Roddy’s girlfriend did not seek any medical attention.

Earlier this year, Roddy appeared on the late Nipsey Hussle’s track, “Racks in the Middle.” In addition to that, the rapper also has a pending collaboration with Drake in the works.

In a past interview, the 2019 XXL Freshman reasoned that spending time down south helped to inspire his music. Roddy explained that his grandmother is from Louisiana, which encouraged the southern feel to his music.

“My grandma from Louisiana,” he began. “So, I grew up around that s–t already. It’s already in me. I’m from the city but I’m different. I like Waffle House. When I go down south, I like that type of s–t. That’s always been, because my grandma been introduced me to that type of living. I was always interested in Mardi Gras and shit like that.”

He continued, “And Southern culture, you know going to Atlanta to the first time, not to say there’s no successful Black people in L.A., but just being down there you’re more exposed to more Black people. Because there’s more of them. You see so many more successful Black people, it’s crazy. And I’m all for that. So, it was dope as muhf–ka.

The story is still developing.
