Ciara and Russell Wilson join MLS Seattle Sounders FC ownership group
The couple levels up together.
Ciara and Russell Wilson continue to prove why they are marriage goals!
While on Instagram today (Aug. 13), Ciara announced that she and Wilson are team owners of the Seattle Sounders FC. In her caption, the songstress explained that her children can grow up to appreciate soccer.
“A Day I’ll Always Cherish!” she began. “@DangeRussWilson and I are fired up to announce we are Team Owners of the Seattle @SoundersFC one of the best soccer franchises in the world! We can’t wait for our kids to grow up loving Soccer! Family is everything! Football and Futbol is Family! #SoundersIsFamily.”
This isn’t the first time that the couple has leveled up in a business sense. Back in April, Ciara and Wilson launched their production company, Why Not You. The company will focus on film, TV and digital content that will include “inspiring and aspiring narratives and human interest stories.”
“While we work in different fields in our day-to-day, we are excited to come together to collaborate and create stories that we hope will touch people’s lives,” the couple said in a statement. “We are both storytellers at heart and we want to be able to share stories that uplift people and inspire others to create positive change. That’s ultimately what we want this company to represent.”
More recently, Ciara snagged the title of Creative Director for Nike and Jordan’s kids fall apparel collection. While speaking with PEOPLE, the 33-year-old singer recalled the significance of sneaker shopping as a kid.
“It’s a dream come true to be able to express my creativity in fashion through legendary brands,” Ciara said. “I remember as a kid waiting in line at Finish Line to get the newest sneakers, so to have the opportunity to see my creative vision on those same shelves is a reminder no dream is too big. I can’t wait to infuse mine and my family’s style and energy into this process.”
