Megan Thee Stallion is not one for picking sides.

Yesterday (Aug. 8), the Houston native spoke with E! News to discuss her latest song “Hot Girl Summer,” which features Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign. During the rapper’s time at E!, Megan was asked about the infamous debate between Cardi B and Minaj. Responding with ease and a matter of professionalism, Megan explained that she doesn’t pick sides. In fact, she has hopes of collaborating with the Bronx spitter.

“It’s really like a lot of the fans. They really make it seem like you’re picking sides,” Megan said. “I really, really, really like both of them. They’re two different people, two different rappers. It’s not even the same. I feel like we need to stop trying to compare them. I love both of them, so I would definitely like to collab with Cardi too.”

At midnight, Megan’s “Hot Girl Summer” track released to streaming platforms. As promised, it was worth the wait. After going on Instagram Live together not too long ago, Megan and the Queen rapper decided to collaborate. While on Twitter, Minaj explained that writing her featured verse came with ease.

“…Once I heard the song I fell in love. Wrote it b4 I went to sleep. None of that was planned. I had no idea meg was on live or that she would want to go live 2gthr,” Minaj shared on Twitter.

In addition to releasing her latest song, Megan continues to remain on top of her game. The 24-year-old spitter is currently working on her album. A few days ago, the “Big Ole Freak” rapper made a surprise guest appearance during Drake’s annual OVO Fest.
