Things are working out in Cardi B’s favor.
Recently, Cardi took a trip back to court in hopes of blocking a videotape and private text messages with Offset from being released. The Bronx spitter feared that if her videotaped deposition was released to the public that it would become a social media frenzy. Luckily, the judge has ruled that the videotape will remain sealed, according to The Blast.
“The Court concludes that the status of Belcalis Almanzar as a person of public interest, as well as the privacy interest enjoyed by any litigant, strongly counsel in favor of limiting the use of the video version of the deposition. Accordingly, it is hereby ORDERED that the video version of the deposition of Belcalis Almanzar shall be used only for purposes of this litigation and shall not be filed or otherwise disseminated to any member of the public without permission of the Court.”
Later this month, Cardi will be confronted by her former manager, Klenord “Shaft” Raphael, in regards to their $30 million court battle. Back in April, Raphael sued Cardi for $10 million for a breach in contract. As a result, Cardi countersued her former manager for $15 million in damages. Cardi reasoned that Raphael took advantage of her “trust and naiveté and persuaded her to sign contracts and to enter into deals in which Mr. Raphael attempted to take an unreasonable and unconscionable portion of [her] earnings in the entertainment industry for himself.”
Although her deposition is approaching, Cardi isn’t allowing that to stop her bag. On Monday night (Aug. 5), Cardi was amongst many guest performers that lit up the stage for Drake’s OVO Festival. Before taking the stage, Drizzy gave the Invasion of Privacy spitter an honorable mention.
“I feel like there’s just one girl that’s been going a little harder,” Drake said in an effort to prepare the crowd for Cardi’s surprise presence. “It’s only right that I exit the stage and leave you in the company of grace and greatness. Enjoy.”
Later that night, Cardi thanked Drake for an unforgettable opportunity. “Thank you @Drake for bringing me out at OVO fest!” she wrote. “You see I would do a CardiO fest in The Bronx but ya can’t even behave in Bity Island.”
