Vic Mensa & Jesse Rutherford want to “LET U KNOW” -- Listen here

Vic Mensa fans are in luck… again. The Chicago rapper has been consistently releasing records and visuals for this loyal fanbase in both worlds of rap and punk work. “LET U KNOW” is his latest release, a collaborative effort featuring vocalist Jesse Rutherford of The Neighbourhood.

At the top of June, Vic unleashed his debut single with rock band 93PUNX titled “Camp America,” a political-driven video that addresses the racism in ICE’s family separation policy by showcasing white kids in detention centers. Soon thereafter, they followed it up with “3 Years Sober” with famous drummer Travis Barker, whose visual sees Vic in a confederate flag dress playing tug of war with Vice President Mike Pence over birth control.

The 26-year-old first shared the song’s release to his 765K followers on Instagram, posting a short clip of an American flag being flipped upside down while the national anthem is played. This quickly transitions into a snippet of “LET U KNOW,” leaving audiences wondering what political message he’s delivering this time.

The Neighbourhood is a California rock band who grew much acclaim with their 2015 single “Cry Baby” off their sophomore album Wiped Out! Both acts embody the definition of feel-good records that touch on real-life experiences, which is every reason why this record works.

Vic spits, “Stuck to the code, I’m ten toes / Switched up on me , Now you reap what you sow / Ain’t no bro.” On the chorus, he repeats, “Did you know? I just had to take the time to let you know” before Rutherford enters with a second verse.

In addition, Mensa and Rutherford will be embarking on a co-headlining tour titled “Heads and Tails,” kicking off later in August in Pomona, California. Shout out to Vic for always using his platform for a greater good. Get your tickets here!
