For the final night of Drake’s OVO Fest, Champagne Papi made sure it was an event that the city of Toronto would never forget.
Yesterday (Aug. 5), Drizzy had a few tricks up his sleeve. During his performance, Drake surprised the audience with guest appearances from Meek Mill, Gucci Mane, Lil Baby, Tyga, Chris Brown, DaBaby, Cardi B, Rick Ross and Megan Thee Stallion. To put the icing on the cake, Drake performed a number of tracks for the first time live including “Money in the Grave,” “Both,” and “No Guidance.”
Before taking a break, Drake gave Cardi B an honorable mention. The 32-year-old rapper explained that Cardi is one of the hardest working entertainers in the game right now. “I feel like there’s just one girl that’s been going a little harder,” Drake said before taking a brief intermission off stage. “It’s only right that I exit the stage and leave you in the company of grace and greatness. Enjoy.”
Cardi lit up the stage and performed some of her hit records such as “Bodak Yellow” and “Clout,” alongside her husband, Offset. Following her performance, Cardi expressed her gratitude to Drake for the opportunity.
“Thank you @Drake for bringing me out at OVO fest!” she wrote. “You see I would do a CardiO fest in The Bronx but ya can’t even behave in Bity Island.”
Elsewhere during the night, Drizzy teased fans and stated that he might perform his entire Care Package LP, after crooning melodies such as “Trust Issues.” Last week, Drake dropped his Care Package project, which features popular loosies that never made it to any of his albums. Although the project features songs that fans have already heard, Care Package is already on the road to becoming Drake’s ninth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart.
