Yesterday (Aug. 2), many were elated to learn that A$AP Rocky was released from Swedish prison and touched down on U.S. soil again.
According to a new report from TMZ, which was published today (Aug. 3), the New York rapper doesn’t plan on going back to Sweden, depending on the judge’s verdict, of course. Thankfully, all signs are pointing towards Rocky being acquitted. The judge is expected to make a decision on Aug. 14. For the ruling, Rocky will not have to return to Sweden because it will be written.
Throughout the trial, prosecutors urged that Rocky remain in Swedish prison because they believe he’s a flight risk. Surprisingly, Rocky stated during his testimony that he wouldn’t seek any money from the Swedish government for wrongful doings. As per the media outlet, Rocky believes he can easily earn back his profits from canceled concerts.
If Rocky did seek money from the Swedish government, he would be reimbursed millions. Last month, Rocky canceled a handful of scheduled performances due to his incarceration. Rocky was set to hit the stage at Sonar, a music festival in Barcelona, Spain, on July 19. In addition to that, some of A$AP’s other canceled shows include Splash! Fest in Germany on July 12 and concerts in Ukraine and Belgium on July 13 and July 14. He also had a sold-out gig in Milan on July 17 and two other shows on the 20th and 21st.
Following his release, Rocky broke his silence on social media. In his touching message, the 30-year-old rapper thanked his fans for their support during a rather difficult time.
“THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART TO ALL OF MY FANS, FRIENDS AND ANYONE ACROSS THE GLOBE WHO SUPPORTED ME DURING THESE LAST FEW WEEKS I CANT BEGIN TO DESCRIBE HOW GRATEFUL I AM FOR ALL OF YOU THIS HAS BEEN A VERY DIFFICULT AND HUMBLING EXPERIENCE I WANT TO THANK THE COURT FOR ALLOWING ME BLADI AND THOTO TO RETURN TO OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL OF THE LOVE AND SUPPORT,” he wrote.
