Prior to Nipsey Hussle’s untimely death earlier this year, the slain rapper owed American Express a great deal of money.
In a new report published by The Blast yesterday (July 31), AMEX filed a creditor’s claim against the rapper’s estate. According to court documents, AMEX has stated that $46,930 needs to be paid. “The Decedent purchased goods and/or services in the amount of $46,930.67,” the company wrote.
This isn’t the first time that the musician’s estate has been hit with some trouble. Three months ago, Paramount Recording Group filed a creditor’s claim on Hussle’s estate. Paramount was seeking $32,000 from a 2012 judgment that they won against Hussle and another party.
Moving forward, Hussle’s brother, Blacc Sam, has filed documents in hopes of becoming the administrator of The Victory Lap rapper’s estate. Sam reasons that he needs to take control in order to handle important business opportunities. Surprisingly, Hussle died without a will. The late musician’s property is going for $2,035,000.
Three months ago, Puma executive, Adam Petrick, spoke with the brand ambassador to unleash a collection that honors Hussle. Petrick explained that Puma will continue to release products that Hussle is associated with.
“We had a lot of things that were coming, and hopefully a lot of things we will still do with his estate. We’ll work with his family and we’ll support his kids,” Petrick revealed.
In a few weeks, it will be King Nip’s birthday. Earlier this week, we reported that law enforcements plan to be on high alert on Aug. 15. Sources revealed that more than 100 officers will surround the Marathon Clothing store. Due to Hussle’s impact in the community, police are expecting thousands of fans to pay their respects. Hussle would’ve been 34 years old.
