Although Nipsey Hussle’s birthday is a few weeks away, police are still prepping for the unknown.

In a new report published by TMZ today (July 29), law enforcement plans to be on high alert on Aug. 15, which is the day of King Nip’s birthday. Sources tell the media outlet that more than 100 officers will be surrounded at the Marathon Clothing store. Police are aware of Hussle’s impact in the community and are expecting thousands of fans to show up and pay their respects.

Back in April, thousands attended The Victory Lap rapper’s memorial service held at Staples Center in Los Angeles to honor the slain entertainer. During the memorial service, many spoke about Hussle’s significance on the culture including his girlfriend Lauren London, family members, Snoop Dogg and many more. Barack Obama penned a heartfelt letter sending his sympathies to Hussle’s family.

“I’d never met Nipsey Hussle, but I’d heard some of his music through my daughters, and after his passing, I had the chance to learn more about his transformation and his community work,” the letter reads. “While most folks look at the Crenshaw neighborhood where he grew up and see only gangs, bullets, and despair, Nipsey saw potential.”

Obama continued: “He saw hope. He saw a community that, even through its flaws, taught him to always keep going. His choice to invest in that community rather than ignore it — to build a skills training center and a coworking space in Crenshaw; to lift up the Eritrean-American community; to set an example for young people to follow — is a legacy worth of celebration. I hope his memory inspires more good work in Crenshaw and communities like it.”

Cops have yet to be alerted on how Hussle’s camp will celebrate his birthday but they are in the midst of preparing.
