Cardi B speaks with Bernie Sanders on ''several occasions'' to discuss politics
The Bronx rapper has a clear interest in politics.
Cardi B has an appreciation for politics.
While on Instagram today (July 26), Cardi uploaded a video clip of United States Senator Bernie Sanders on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show. During his interview, Sanders reveals having many conversations with Cardi regarding politics.
“We have talked on the phone on several occasions. Really smart…she is deeply concerned with what is happening,” Sanders said. “She comes from a humble background, she knows what it’s like to live in poverty, to struggle and she wants to make sure we can improve life for the working people in this country and I’m delighted.”
In her post, the Invasion of Privacy spitter explains that her love for politics grew while attending high school. She recalled having a natural love for government and history classes.
“This makes me so happy !” her caption reads. “I know my High school history teacher is so happy believe it or not guys I was in advance placement in high school for Government and history it was a subject that I learn fast cause I naturally love it! I even took more classes in college but I dropped out cause money came first and I was also a chasing dirty ass men but w.e….anyways I want us this year to get more familiar with or candidates ‘democratic my preference ‘Take a little bit of our time and open our eyes on what’s going on in this country and how we can change it.”
This isn’t the first time that Cardi has expressed a genuine interest in politics. While on Instagram, the mother-of-one encouraged fans to think of questions they would like to ask the 2020 Democratic hopefuls.
“If I was to ask my next president a question, I would like to ask: What are we going to do about police brutality?” she says. “It seems like it keeps on happening every single day and they are getting away with it. I would like to see a change. I would like to know if our next president even cares because it seems like the one we have right now doesn’t.”
