Although A$AP Rocky is currently behind bars in Sweden, it’s evident that he has a strong support system.

On Tuesday (July 9), a group called #JusticeForRocky launched a Change.org petition in an effort to help with his release. As per the petition, the New York rapper is unable to speak with his legal counsel while in custody, which is a violation against his rights. The petition has a goal of 500,000 signatures. Currently, there are 355,980 signatures, at the time of publication.

Last night, A$AP Ferg encouraged his Instagram followers to sign the petition. He explained that everyone should join the movement to help with his brother’s exoneration.

“Stand in support and request Rocky’s release from Swedish officials! Sign the petition and join the movement at change.org . JusticeForRocky LINK IN BIO,” he wrote as the caption.

Chace Infinite, Rocky’s manager, detailed some of the experiences Rocky has dealt with.

“Upon being detained, Rocky was denied his request to counsel which is in violation of Article 36 of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, to which Sweden is a signatory,” Infinite said. “Everyone has the same rights to be treated fairly upon detainment and should be given fair and equal access to such rights.”

Following his arrest earlier this month, Rocky has endured barbaric jail conditions. We reported that the food is not edible. For the first couple of days, Rocky only ate an apple a day. In addition to that, Rocky is sleeping on a yoga mat with blankets. A prisoner next to him, who suffers from mental issues, throws feces in every direction.

Rocky’s trial regarding his assault case will begin from the middle to the end of August. Check out more information regarding his petition here.
