On Wednesday evening (July 3), YG’s vehicle was linked to a shooting that took place in Compton, California.

According to ABC7 Eyewitness News, YG is the registered owner of a black Cadillac Escalade. Detectives were responding to a deputy-involved shooting that took place in Compton late that evening. Originally, the deputies were responding to a report of a reckless DUI suspect. A man was killed at the scene, which authorities believe to be an innocent bystander. After the shooting, a pursuit proceeded and ended in Inglewood.

As per the sheriff’s officials, multiple shots were fired from suspects aiming at deputies and the sheriff’s helicopter. One deputy was treated and released for minor injuries after being shot during the pursuit. Police inspected the black Escalade involved in the shooting and found that it had “aftermarket bulletproof glass” and armor. Moving forward, detectives are investigating YG’s connection with the vehicle and suspects.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the 29-year-old rapper is catching a break. Back in June, YG was handcuffed by authorities during a traffic stop in Los Angeles. He was allegedly speeding and weaving in and out of traffic on the Sunset Strip. According to TMZ, deputies claim that YG became “upset and uncooperative and used profanities towards the deputies.” YG was ultimately handcuffed after he began “riling up the crowd.”

Last month, YG’s associate, Slim 400, was shot eight times in Los Angeles. According to TMZ, the motive and potential suspects are unknown. Reportedly, a black vehicle suspected to be involved in the shooting was seen driving away from the incident. Slim 400 is known for his work on tracks like “Bruisin” and “Skraper.” Last April, the 31-year-old rapper released his project High on TTreez, which featured Budda Ru, Pooh Wee, Twista and more.
