Boosie BadAzz‘s bank account is about to take a serious hit.
As reported on Wednesday (July 3), the Baton Rouge rapper has been ordered to dish out a six-figure sum to a security guard who previously pepper-sprayed him at a mall back in 2017.
According to The Advocate, U.S. District Judge Louis Guirola Jr. ordered the rapper to pay $233,128.54 to security officer Glen Kerley over the matter. The default judgment was made as a result of Boosie’s failure to appear for court.
The 36-year-old did not show up the latest hearing, nor did he successfully respond to the court’s pleadings after his attorney left the case back in March of this year.
While Boosie was not present for undisclosed reasons, Kerley testified that he felt assaulted when an altercation escalated outside of a Dillard’s located at the Edgewater Mall in April 2017. According to his testimony, he is still receiving treatment for the concussion and neck injuries he suffered as a result of Boosie and his security guard, Larry Anderson, allegedly jumping him during the chaotic scene.
After the incident, Kerley filed a lawsuit for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, gross negligence and civil conspiracy. Both Boosie and Anderson reportedly filed a countersuit in response for abuse of the legal process, intentional interference with business relations, assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence.
As reported, Boosie partially settled a separate lawsuit against Biloxi, Miss. and the people who employed Kerley earlier this year. He reportedly was paid $5,000 by the city in the settlement.
Boosie claims he suffered both physical injuries and emotional distress as a result of the melee.
As reported, Boosie has a separate case pending against DIllard’s as well in connection with the situation.
