Tyler, the Creator debuts new signature ice cream flavor

  /  07.02.2019

With his latest collaboration, Tyler, the Creator is thriving at the intersection of summer and self-promotion.

As announced Monday (July 1), the IGOR rapper has unveiled his latest endeavor, sharing that he has officially found his way into the dessert industry with a special partnership.

Tyler has created his own specialty ice cream with Columbus, Ohio-based Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. His flavor, named Snowflake, will be made available beginning on July 6, when the product will hit both the GOLF le FLEUR* and Jeni’s websites. The ice cream will also be sold on July 6 at the GOLF store in Los Angeles, and will be made available at Jeni‘s locations nationwide beginning on July 8.

According to a press release, the signature flavor features ” features “cool peppermint on the ivory side, warm spearmint on the green side, with buttery white chocolate melted throughout, white chocolate flakes for some crunch, and a little sea salt to bring the flavor and scent forward.”

Tyler also spoke of his own inspiration for the flavor, explaining how he’s been dreaming this one up for quite some time.

“As much as I love white chocolate chip cookies, I can’t get over the fact that someone made the universal rule that they always have to come with those useless macadamia nuts,” he explained in a statement. “For as long as I can remember, mint ice cream seemed to always come with every chocolate chip but white. I finally got the two away from their clingy friends and set up a play date for my mouth.”

While a price point for the collaboration has not yet been announced, Jeni’s current roster of specialty ice cream goes for $12 per pint.
