Lawsuit involving Chris Brown and Suge Knight shooting at 1 Oak dismissed

A lawsuit stemming from a 2014 shooting between Chris Brown and Suge Knight at 1 Oak nightclub has been dismissed, according to The Blast.

Amanda Miller filed a lawsuit in 2015 after claiming she was injured during that shooting at Chris Brown’s party that left Knight wounded after being shot seven times. In her lawsuit, Miller claimed that Brown “was and is known to associate with known criminals and/or gang members, and events where he has entertained in the past have been attended by known gang members and marked by violence and gang activity.” She also blamed the venue and claimed 1 Oak failed to provide proper security knowing both Brown and Knight’s reputation.

The lawsuit stated that the venue “had a duty to provide adequate ‘security’ to ensure those entering the event were not carrying weapons and that known gang members and/or their affiliates would not be allowed to enter the event.” The case was dismissed with prejudice, meaning she can not file again.

This is the second legal victory Brown has gained in connection to this shooting. Back in 2017, Knight dropped his lawsuit against Brown after being sent a letter from the “New Flame” singer’s lawyers.

Last week, the R&B singer settled a three-year-long lawsuit filed against him by his former manager Mike G. In 2016, Mike G. sued Brown for false imprisonment, assault, battery, defamation, and breach of contract. As we reported, the two were able to settle out of court. The terms to the settlement are confidential.
