It’s safe to say that Megan Thee Stallion is leaving her mark in the hip-hop game. During an interview with The Cruz Show in Los Angeles, Megan shared her top five female emcees list.
“Okay, so, we got Lil’ Kim, we got Missy, we got Eve, we got Foxy, and we got Megan Thee Stallion,” she said without hesitation.
After her response surfaced the internet, Megan faced backlash for not citing Nicki Minaj. Minaj’s Barbz pointed out that the Queen rapper should’ve made it in her top five list.
“It’s funny how these girls come in the game like Nicki Minaj for a second then mysteriously all these other female rappers inspired them,” one fan wrote in reference to Megan’s top five list.
Keeping her response to a minimum, Megan explained to the fan that she has the right to be inspired by multiple women.
“It’s funny how you’re making nothing into something,” she said. “I can’t like the OG female hip hop artist? I can’t show love to more than one woman?”
Earlier this month, Megan hosted her inaugural “Hottie Beach Clean Up” at Santa Monica Pier.
“It’s not all about driving the motherf–king boat,” the Houston rapper said to her fans at the beach. “We got s–t to do. We got s–t to save. Causes to motherf–king fulfill. I really want to help. We’re going to clean this motherf–king beach up, and then we’re gonna drive the boat.”
In other Megan related news, she is set to perform at this year’s inaugural Day N Vegas Festival, which is scheduled for November. Megan will join many other talented artists including Migos, Lil Uzi Vert, Juice WLRD, 21 Savage and more.
