Congrats, Cardi B! Last night (June 23), Cardi took home Album of the Year at the 2019 BET Awards.

While accepting her monumental award for her debut LP Invasion of Privacy, Bardi explained to the audience that she is grateful to have an album that everyone enjoys. She thanked her collaborators who were featured on the project including Kehalni, Chance The Rapper, J Balvin and all of her producers. Before exiting the stage, the Bronx rapper reiterated that her album was “three times platinum” and stated that “the numbers don’t lie.”

“‘I’m glad that I made an album that your sister, your mother, your grandmother like it, all you b—hes be like aye-yi-ki-ki, thank you very much!” she said.

It’s safe to say that Cardi had a good night at the BET Awards. In addition to snagging Album of the Year, Cardi also won Best Female Hip-Hop Artist. To put the icing on the cake, Cardi gave a riveting opening performance with her husband, Offset. The duo performed their collaborative hit “Clout,” before she broke out solo for her latest offering “Press.”

In a post uploaded to Instagram, Cardi explained to her fans that it wasn’t easy preparing for her opening performance. She detailed having difficulty learning the choreography and thanked her team for their continued patience.

“I want to thank @tanishascott and all the dancers,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thank ya for having patience with me my ass is maaa slow when it comes to choreography. Thanks to the dancers again for all the time ya put in at rehearsal. I want to thank my hubby too @offsetyrn you just got soo much swag in yo dance I wanted you to show . Thank you BET .”
