On Friday (June 21), a series of reports were published with an update surrounding Cardi B’s ongoing criminal case stemming from an alleged fight that broke out at a strip club in August 2018.
As reported by the New York Times, the Bronx rapper was indicted on felony charges connected to the incident. According to their report, court records state she is facing several charges in the case, including two counts of felony attempted assault and lesser counts including harassment, criminal solicitation and conspiracy.
However, Cardi B is not here for the misinformation being spread around her criminal case, taking to Instagram to condemn TMZ specifically for their published story commenting on the matter.
Per TMZ’s account, Cardi has been indicted on 14 charges, a report that she has since adamantly slammed on social media.
In a since-deleted Instagram post shared on Friday, the rapper refers to the publication’s owner, Harvey Levin, as a “wrinkle fake tan b—h,” calling out the celebrity site for going “out your way to report s–t on people in the urban culture and even make s–t up.”
During her lengthy caption, she calls attention to how TMZ almost ran an inaccurate story about her being pregnant this spring.
“Its crazy how 2 months ago my publicist had to go out her way to prove to you guys that I had surgery because you insisted that I was pregnant and you was going to reported it because a reliable source claim to tell you,” she added.
She then goes on to address her current criminal case, during which she airs her frustration that the matter has dragged on as long as it has.
“I never did jail time ,I don’t have NO CRIMINAL RECORD but they want to drag this case because they want fame and they want press,” she added. “Waste people tax money on a bulls–t case a MISDEMEANOR CASE. I don’t understand how I been to court 6 times for a misdemeanor a f–king MISDEMEANOR and now you try to upgraded to a FELONY E the lowest of the low cause I refuse to agree to ya terms !!!”
Later on in her post, Cardi highlights all of the charitable work she and her “gang member” friends have done for the community while noting that sites such as TMZ don’t do anything but “harass and oppress.”
As previously reported, Cardi rejected a plea deal prior to prosecutors presenting the case in front of a grand jury. She is set to return to court for an arraignment hearing on Tuesday afternoon (June 25).
