The Toronto Raptors are fresh off earning their first-ever NBA Championship and Drake is making sure the celebration is as long-lasting as it is hard-earned.

During a victory parade taking place on Monday (June 17), the proud Toronto native announced that his OVO Fest will be returning this year.

After cruising through the city with the Raptors team and league affiliates, showing off the gold trophy along the way from a double decker bus, Drake hopped on the mic to thank his beloved hometown.

“I hope all these guys will join me this year because we bringing OVO Fest back, so I hope we can go crazy!” he said, happily addressing a crowd in Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square.

The music festival, put on to showcase the rising talent on his OVO label, began in 2010 and presumably ended in 2017. While the annual concert event series didn’t take place in 2018, Drake has been hinting that it might return during the Toronto stop of his “Aubrey & The Three Migos Tour” last year. Looks like the momentum from his beloved Toronto winning the NBA Championship is one that the 6 God hopes to carry into the remainder of this year.

While an official lineup, nor date, has been announced for the return of OVO Fest, it traditionally has taken place during the month of August. Past performers of Drake’s music festival have included the likes of Kanye West, JAY-Z, Eminem, The Weeknd, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar, as well as those from his imprint.

In related news, after the Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors, Drake celebrated with the release of two highly anticipated singles, “Omerta” and “Money in the Grave” featuring Rick Ross.

With the prospect of the return of OVO Fest on the horizon, fans have a feeling Drake will be planning something major to celebrate his team’s victory.
