The custody battle over Nipsey Hussle’s daughter hasn’t reached an amicable end just yet.

While the 10-year-old, Emani Asghedom, is currently living with the late rapper’s sister, Samantha Smith, the situation is not yet a legally permanent arrangement.

Ahead of the next court hearing, which is set for July, reports broke that Nipsey’s family has new evidence to further support their belief that Emani’s mother, Tanisha Foster, is an unfit parent.

According to a report from TMZ published on Monday (June 17), the family of Nipsey Hussle is planning to showcase how Foster is a negligent parent by way of using her other children to show examples of her parenting abilities.

As reported, a source close to the situation says one example is Foster’s eldest daughter, who has been sent to juvenile detention centers since she was 12. Now 18, the teenager is reportedly behind bars for petty theft. Even though the daughter is now a legal adult, the detention center says they won’t release her because she doesn’t have a GED or a healthy environment to return to. TMZ claims that Foster hasn’t gone to the center to claim her daughter, nor has she made an effort to attend any court hearings related to the teen.

Additionally, Foster’s 17-year-old son is another example, as he reportedly has been moving from home-to-home and does not attend school on a consistent basis. The source also cites Foster’s own legal history as a reason she is unfit to raise Emani on her own.

The report detailing how Nipsey’s family is preparing to continue their argument that Emani should remain in Smith’s custody arrives a month after a judge ruled in their favor. Since the recording artist and community leader was fatally shot on March 31, Emani has lived with Smith, an arrangement the family is hopeful the courts will agree is the best fit for the young girl.
