It has been over two decades since Tupac Shakur was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas. His murder has gone unsolved, resulting in several conspiracy theories from fans and hip hop enthusiasts alike. Now, a former detective who was a led the case’s investigation team claims he knows the identity of the person that killed Pac.

According to Lad Bible, former LAPD officer Greg Kading says that a man named Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson was the one that shot Tupac in that fatal drive-by.

“Anderson was the guy that Tupac had a fight with earlier that evening and he came back and retaliated with his crew,” Kading said to “Today Australia.”.

Anderson, a reported member of the South Compton Crips, was the prime suspect in the case after surveillance footage from the MGM Grand Hotel showed him getting into a physical altercation with Tupac and his entourage. Anderson was killed in a gang-related shooting in 1998 and denied any involvement in Pac’s murder.

Kading also led the team that investigated the murder of The Notorious B.I.G. After leaving the force, he wrote the book, “Murder Rap: The Untold Story of Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations.” In 2018, the book was turned into a miniseries on the USA Network called “Unsolved.”

“There’s really not much mystery behind these murders, even though there’s a bunch of conspiracy surrounding them. When you just get down to the brass tacks of it they’re relatively simple,” he said later in the interview with the Australian daytime talk show.

“All of the facts and evidence point to one thing and one thing only. They recognize that also and we’ve all embraced each other and recognize this to be the conclusive and definitive truth behind the murders.”

Shakur was shot four times in a drive-by shooting on September 7, 1996. He was in the car with Death Row C.E.O. Suge Knight when their vehicle stopped at a red light. Then, a white vehicle approached them from the side and opened fire. He succumbed to his injuries on September 13, 1996. He was just 23 years old.
