While most viewers tuned in to watch the Golden State Warriors playoff against the Toronto Raptors at Game 3 of the NBA Finals last night (June 5), others were busy analyzing Beyoncé’s body language.

The Homecoming singer made a courtside appearance at the Oracle Arena with hubby JAY-Z and sat next to Nicole Curran, wife of the Golden State Warriors’ owner, Joe Lacob. It wasn’t until Curran leaned over to speak with the billionaire rapper that the Beyhive suspected a shift in Queen Bey’s mood.

“beyonce is so annoyed by this woman and hov gon’ hear about it on the jet,” one user tweeted. “Every black woman has had someone violate their personal space like this,” another person wrote. Soon after, the loyal fan base swarmed Curran’s Instagram feed with bee emojis and accused her of disrespecting the performer.

It didn’t take long for Curran to issue a statement. According to a screenshot posted by TheShadeRoom, Curran explained the courtside exchange, writing, “Listen Beehive [sic]. I respect Queen B. I love her! I talked to her husband twice tonight.”

She went on to say, “First, to take a drink order for them both when they arrived as they were our guests. Second, to explain why I gave his wife a rose from a fan. All of this has been taken out of context. I’m a happily married woman. Telling me to kill myself?????? Somehow I don’t think she would support this.”

The 50-year-old also posted a photo of herself helping Beyoncé fix herself at the game with a caption that reads, “We should all help and support each other.” Curran later turned off her comments on the snap, as seen below.

The Lemonade singer has yet to comment on the misunderstanding. Keep reading to see how the internet reacted and see Curran’s response for yourself ahead.
