Hours after releasing her new single “Press,” Cardi B made another court appearance in New York for her strip club brawl case on Friday.
Authorities say the rapper, real name is Belcalis Almanzar, and her entourage were at Angels Strip Club in Queens when she argued with a bartender and a dancer because she believed one of them was having an affair with her husband Offset.
Allegedly, when the dancer, identified as Baddie Gi, hit the stage a fight broke out in which chairs, bottles and hookah pipes were thrown, injuring Baddie and another employee. After an investigation, Cardi turned herself in to authorities and was charged with reckless endangerment and assault. Baddie Gi said that Cardi didn’t directly touch her during the fight.
After rejecting a peal deal in April, began the first day of her misdemeanor assault trial on May 30. According to TMZ, prosecutors are looking to upgrade her charges after it was sent to a grand jury.
Reportedly the decision was made by prosecutors after they did an additional investigation. The other alleged victim is Jade, the girlfriend of rapper 6ix9ine. The rapper is due back in court August 9 for another hearing.
The conditions of her bond were continued, which includes an order preventing her from contacting the people she allegedly injured.
