Considering that Cardi B has built her career on a foundation of being transparent with her fans, it is refreshing that she continues to keep it a buck despite having a constant spotlight on her at this stage in her career.

Earlier this week (May 27), the Bronx native hopped on Instagram Live to check in with fans and vent about her road to recovery after having undergone liposuction.

During the Instagram Live session, the rapper opened up about her frustrations and how difficult it was to comply with doctor’s orders by canceling a slew of live performances. She had been forced to push back several concert dates, as well as cancel the remainder of her scheduled May performances in order to heal.

“I hate canceling shows because I love money. I’m a money addict,” Cardi can be heard saying around the 1:50-minute mark. “And I get paid a lot of money, a lot of money for these shows. A lot of money. I’m canceling millions of dollars in shows, but health is wealth so I have to do what I have to do.”

In addition to opening up about the performance opportunities she’s had to pass up in the aftermath of her medical procedures, she also defended her decision to have work done amid her hectic schedule and after giving birth to her daughter Kulture.

“I do whatever the f–k I want to do with my body,” Cardi explains. “I don’t have the time of day like you do. My job as an entertainer is a 24-hour job, bro. So no I don’t have time to work out. I wanted specific things that I know that no matter how much I work out won’t get fixed.”

It remains unclear exactly how much money she lost as a result of having to cancel a slew of gigs. In the meantime, fans remain hopeful she will make a speedy recovery and get back on the road in no time. At the time of this report, Cardi B is still slated to perform at Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam on June 2.
