From releasing her latest album, Beauty Marks, earlier this month to launching her own company Beauty Marks Entertainment, Ciara has no shortage of milestones to be grateful for as of late.
After reflecting on the blessings 2019 has given her thus far in a heartfelt post on Instagram, the “Level Up” singer revealed she also will be heading back to school and at one of the most prestigious institutions at that.
As announced on Monday (May 20), Ciara has officially been accepted into Harvard Business School’s Executive Education program in Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports.
“I always dreamt of going to college, but by God’s grace, my music career took me on a path that I’m so thankful for,” she shared on Instagram alongside a picture of herself wearing a Harvard sweater. “This week I got accepted into Harvard! Words cannot describe my excitement! Thank you @anitaelberse for a once in a lifetime opportunity to attend @Harvard BEMS. #WhyNotHER.”
As tagged by Ciara, Anita Elberse is the the faculty chair for her program at the Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports.
According to the program’s website, applicants aren’t required to have “formal educational requirements” in order to attend but the school does note “admission is a selective process based on … professional achievement and organizational responsibilities.” Past participants of the program include Katie Holmes and Karlie Kloss, while Harvard University boasts Barack Obama, Conan O’Brien and Natalie Portman, among others, as notable alumni.
Ciara’s announcement was celebrated by her husband, Russell Wilson, who joined her friends and fans in congratulating her on the news.
“Leveling All the way Up! I see you Momma,” the Seattle Seahawks quarterback wrote in the comments section. “I can’t wait to see our daughter follow in your footsteps!”
Prior to announcing the news on social media, Ciara took a moment to reflect on the year she’s been having thus far.
“Taking control of my journey was one of my proudest moments of my life,” she reflected on Instagram. “I’ve been able to book magazine covers I’ve always dreamt of being on, rock on stages I’ve been dying to perform on again, and in doing so allowed me to discover the power of the relationship I have with my fans! #CSQUAD! I also learned that #BeautyMarks to date has sold over 135k equivalent global album units, spurred a Gold Record with Level Up which is now VERY close to being platinum and the entire project generated over 208 million global YouTube views!”
She continued: “I couldn’t be more excited looking towards the future and everything we have planned for this year and beyond! Truly feeling like a kid all over again! I’m truly grateful, for my family, friends, team and all of you that have lifted me up! It means the world to me!”
Congrats on your recent achievements, Ciara!
