While festival season is already officially in full swing, this time of year also means that the annual BET Awards are drawing near as well.

The nominees for this year’s festivities were announced in full on Friday (May 17) and not too surprisingly, Cardi B leads the pack.

As announced by BET, the Bronx rapper leads with seven nominations, including categories Best Female Hip Hop Artist and Video of the Year. Drake falls in second, garnering an impressive five nominations. Beyoncé, J. Cole and Travis Scott round out the top nominees with four nods respectively.

“Eighteen years ago we launched the BET Awards and since then we have celebrated cool in ways that can’t be duplicated elsewhere,” Connie Orlando, executive vice president and head of programming at BET, shared in a statement.

“From Michael Jackson and James Brown busting dance moves together to Monique paying homage to Beyoncé in an unforgettable dance number to BET reuniting the Fugees we have set the tone for what cool looks like,” she continued. “This year we are even more so committed to continuing to create the unforgettable moments that have made the BET Awards the preeminent celebration of black culture.”

The BET Awards, which is now in its 19th year, will air live on Sunday, June 23, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and will celebrate winners across 20 categories in music and entertainment.
