New music from Nipsey Hussle is on the way.

On Wednesday (May 15), DJ Khaled confirmed his collaboration with the late rapper on his upcoming album, Father of Asahd. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Khaled shared he embarked on a “soul-searching journey” after Hussle’s untimely passing in March. “Just days prior, he shared his energy and positivity with me on a video set for a song called ‘Higher,’” the proud dad wrote.

After receiving the “full blessing of the Asghedom family,” Khaled decided to share the song and video on his new LP. “The very title of this song reminds up that vibrating on a ‘Higher’ lever was the essence of Nipsey’s soul,” he stated. Khaled also revealed his plans to preserve the 33-year-old’s mission of philanthropy by “donating 100%” of the proceeds from the record to Hussle’s two children, Emani and Kross.

Following the shocking news of Hussle’s murder, John Legend released a statement referencing the track. “RIP Nipsey. I just spent Thursday with him filming a video for a beautiful new song we created with Khaled,” he tweeted. “We filmed in Inglewood, close to where he grew up. He was so gifted, so proud of his home, so invested in his community. Utterly stunned that he’s gone so soon.”

Hours after Khaled confirmed the record, TMZ obtained exclusive footage from the set of the music video. In it, Hussle raps in all blue while Legend plays on the piano. Watch the sneak peek ahead.

In related news, Khaled has confirmed Cardi B, Post Malone, Lil Nas X, and the City Girls will be joining him on his Days of Summer Cruise. As previously reported, the four-day excursion will kick off in Miami on June 28 and return on July 1 after stopping the Bahamas for a day. Attendees can expect live music, meet-n-greets, comedy shows, and panels with the artists.

Khaled’s eleventh studio album, Father of Asahd, is due out tomorrow (May 17). It will reportedly feature the 2018 singles “Top Off” with Beyoncé, Future, and JAY-Z in addition to “No Brainer” with Chance the Rapper, Quavo, and Justin Bieber. Check out Hussle’s contribution to the album ahead.
