Kodak Black’s recent arrest may land him behind bars for several years.

Court documents obtained by XXL reveal the 21-year-old rapper is facing up to 10 years in prison for allegedly falsifying statements on gun applications and purchasing firearms illegally.

According to the report, Black (real name Bill K. Kapri) committed a crime while purchasing firearms at Lou’s Police Distributors gun store in Hialeah, Fla. on two separate occasions this year by checking “no” in the gun application section that asked if he was under indictment. In October 2017, the “Zeze” rapper was, in fact, indicted on charges of first-degree criminal sexual assault charges.

As previously reported, Black was arrested on last weekend (May 11) prior to his scheduled performance at this year’s Rolling Loud music festival. According to the Miami Herald, the Florida native was apprehended outside of the venue by the Miami-Dade police, federal agents from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the U.S. Marshals after an “extensive investigation.”

In addition to 10 years behind bars, Black also faces a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release after serving his sentence, XXL reports. His attorney, Bradford Cohen, spoke to the outlet on Monday (May 13), explaining how Black may have misunderstood the application process.

“When you throw around legal terms like indictment, information, or anything like that where someone’s not an attorney, [the federal government is] making the assumption that you know what that means,” he stated. Interestingly enough, Cohen did not confirm whether Black actually filled out the paperwork in question.

Black’s latest run-in with the law comes less than a month after he was arrested on drugs and weapons charges at the U.S. border. In that incident, U.S. Customs Agents allegedly discovered marijuana and a Glock 9mm pistol in the Cadillac Escalade he was driving at the time.

The controversial rapper and three other members of his entourage were arrested and each received a felony charge for criminal possession of a weapon and a misdemeanor charge for possession of marijuana. Black was later released on $20k cash bond, but still faces legal ramifications that could affect his 2016 sexual assault case.
