Wu-Tang Clan continues their decades-spanning regime with a healthy dose of new material.

As announced by the group on social media (May 14), the legendary hip hop veterans are coming correct with a new EP, set for release this Friday (May 17). The news arrives on the heels of their Showtime documentary series, “Of Mics and Men,” which aired its first episode last week (May 10).

In tandem with the four-part docu-series, the group’s new EP utilizes the same title and features seven new tracks with contributions from members RZA, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, GZA, Masta Killa and Cappadonna.

“You’ve seen episode 1/ Wu documentary by now (and if you haven’t, what were you doing last weekend), now listen to the music inspired by the series,” the group shared on its official Instagram account. “On Friday, we’re coming with a new Wu-Tang EP from @36ChambersALC and Mass Appeal, so let your boss know you’ll be in late to work.”

Both the docu-series and the Of Mice and Men EP arrives in celebration of the group’s 25th anniversary of their seminal debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).

“‘Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men’ is the definitive docuseries that explores and reveals our careers spanning over 25 years,” RZA stated in a press release. “The accompanying soundtrack is a great dose of some of those Men back on those Mics again.”

As previously reported, Wu-Tang last dropped a project in 2017 with The Saga Continues, a compilation that featured contributions from every living member save for U-God. Prior to that, the group last released 2014’s A Better Tomorrow, as well as made countless headlines for the ultra-rare lone copy of Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, which sold in an auction for $2 million to controversial businessman Martin Shkreli in 2015.

In addition to Wu-Tang’s Showtime docu-series, Hulu has also ordered a 10-episode series inspired by the group, which will feature Dave East portraying a character based off Method Man.
