Last week, Kodak Black made headlines for something positive, but now his freedom is once again in jeopardy after a recent arrest.

On Saturday (May 11), Kodak was scheduled to perform at Rolling Loud in Miami but was arrested outside of the venue for weapons charges.

According to the Miami Herald, Kodak, real name Bill Kapri, was apprehended by Miami-Dade police, federal agents from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and U.S. Marshals. Now, he faces both federal and state charges after an “extensive investigation” by U.S. Marshals. He’s currently being held in a Miami Federal Detention Center

Lil Wayne was also set to perform at Rolling Loud Saturday night but canceled after he refused to get searched by festival police.

“To all my fans who came to see me at Rolling Loud,” Wayne tweeted, “I’m sorry but I won’t be performing. The Festival Police (Not Rolling Loud) made it mandatory that I had to be policed and checked to get on the stadium grounds. I do not and will not ever settle for being policed to do my job and give you guys a great show. I will be at Story tonight for the afterparty and you kan katch me on tour with my bros Blink 182 this summer! 🤙🏾”

This is Kodak’s second arrest in a month. Back in April, he was charged with weapons and drug charges while attempting to enter the U.S. from Canada at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. Kodak was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and a marijuana possession and was later released on bond. As a result, he was forced to cancel a show in Boston. A couple of weeks after that arrest, his tour bus was raided in D.C.

Kodak has seen his fair share of ups and downs this spring. After radio stations said they would stop playing his songs over his comments about Lauren London following her longtime love Nipsey Hussle’s death, he was replaced by Megan Thee Stallion on Bhad Bhabie’s “Bestie.” His remarks about Lauren also sparked a feud with T.I., which went from Instagram to wax after Kodak dropped the track “Expeditiously.”

On May 7, two shooters reportedly killed eight people in an attack at STEM School Highland Ranch in Denver, CO. One of the victims was identified as 18-year-old Kendrick Castillo, a student that tried to protect his classmates by lunging at one of the gunmen.

As Castillo’s heroic efforts made headlines, Kodak Black offered to pay the funeral expenses and start a $10,000 scholarship in the name of Castillo who had dreams of being a robotic engineer. According to The Blast, Kodak’s attorney sent a message to the family that reads:

“First let me tell you words cannot describe my sorrow for your situation. You raised an amazing young man that did an amazing thing. I know that those words cannot provide as much comfort as you and your wife deserve. I have a client that wished me to reach out and extend an offer for him to pay for any and all funeral expenses, as well as establish a scholarship in his name. Your son truly represents the inherent good in people. Again, I am sorry for your loss.”
