A week after Bushwick Bill revealed his stage 4 pancreatic cancer diagnosis; the Geto Boys are reuniting for one last tour.
Willie D, Scarface and Bill have announced their “The Begining of a Long Goodbye Tour: The Final Farewell” tour via their website on Wednesday (May 8).
“Because of the seriousness of Bill’s prognosis, the Geto Boys have decided to do just a handful of shows at the end of this month in order for fans to be able to see the group together one last time,” the press release said. A portion of the proceeds is being donated to support pancreatic cancer.
So far, four dates have been confirmed for the tour, with more dates expected to be announced within the next few weeks.
This isn’t the first time the Geto Boys have reunited this year. Last month, the trio did a surprise show during the first night of the Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage Cruise.
“I look forward to joining the guys again for this final farewell to The Geto Boys,” Scarface said in the press release.
“We had a lot of memories, good and bad, and a lot of great music. Man, it’s gonna be a tear jerker walking away from this — a time in my life that threw learning curves and growing pains at the same time,” he continued. “Thanks to all the Geto Boys and Girls around the world that helped to protect this brand. Bill and Will, I love you guys. God bless you both in your future travels whatever they may be. So long fellas.”
