Kim Kardashian is keeping true to her word when it comes to criminal justice reform.
After announcing her plans to become a lawyer and helping secure the release of 17 inmates, the 38-year-old reality star and business mogul flew to Charlotte, North Carolina on Tuesday (May 7) to meet one of the men who wrote her a letter while incarcerated.
A woman named Azaria Algarin opened up about the visit on Instagram, writing, “Recently my twin [Paul] was released from central prison where he served an accumulation of seven years … He asked me for Kim’s address so he could send her a letter and I rolled my eyes and never sent it. Eventually my mom sent it to him so he would stop harassing us.”
Algarin continued, “Fast forward to yesterday. Kim flew in to CLT with her doctor to have lunch with us and start the procedure of removing my brothers face tattoos.”
Although she admits “never in a million years” did she think the mom of three who is expecting another child via surrogate “at any minute” would actually read Paul’s letter, she was even more surprised by how invested Kardashian was in helping him get his life back on track.
On Wednesday (May 8), Algarin told TMZ she and her family had lunch with Kardashian and hubby Kanye West at The Lights Juicery & Cafe before heading over to MedSpa for Paul’s first lasering session to remove his face tattoo. The couple will reportedly cover all of the expenses for the procedure.
“I’m so proud of my brother for taking steps in the right direction,” Algarin wrote on Instagram adding that she will “forever cherish” the time spent with Kardashian and West. Keep reading to see all of the photos from their outing ahead.
