As Kim Kardashian works to expand her area of expertise beyond the entertainment and beauty industries, she will also be documenting her efforts in the criminal justice reform space.

As reported, the aspiring lawyer has secured a new true-crime series with Oxygen, set to focus on those who have been wronged by the American criminal justice system.

While details of the forthcoming program remain up for speculation, the network has confirmed the working title as “Kim Kardashian: The Justice Project.” The show, which reportedly will take on the form of a 2-hour documentary series, will follow Kardashian’s work to “secure freedom for Americans who she believes have been wronged by the justice system.” Additionally, a press released confirmed the show will offer “an exclusive, never before seen look inside her mission to tackle on of America’s most controversial subjects.”

According to reports, Kardashian will also serve as an an executive producer alongside Bunim Murray Productions. Other executive producers include Gil Goldschein, Julie Pizzi and Farnaz Farjam. The Oxygen network has recently announced a new slate of programming with the likes of Ice-T, Mark Wahlberg, Nancy Grace and more to be involved in one capacity or another.

“Oxygen is tremendously excited to work with some of the biggest names in the industry on such important projects,” Rod Aissa, executive vice president of original programming and development at Oxygen, said in a statement. “This year we’ve increased our original hours by more than 30 percent, and we’ll keep ramping up our programming efforts as more fans flock to the network to experience best in class content.”

As previously reported, throughout the past three months, Kardashian helped negotiate the release of 17 inmates who had originally been sentenced to life in parole for low-level drug offenses. Kardashian, who is currently studying to be a lawyer, has been working to seek clemency for inmates such as Alice Marie Johnson, who had been serving a life sentence for a nonviolent drug offense. As a result of Kardashian’s efforts, President Donald Trump agreed to commute Johnson’s life sentence last year.

On a recent episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” she noted how she remains dedicated to pursuing her dreams to become a lawyer and have a hand in tangible prison reform.

“It’s kind of crazy because I’m learning it all as I go,” she admitted during the show. “I spend more time on this than I do anything else. It’s insane but it’s so fun to be around people that are super smart and get it and want the same thing.”

At the time of this report, a release date for Kim Kardashian’s upcoming program on Oxygen has not yet been announced.
